The bark of a Scribbly Gum, Eucalyptus rossii (W.Pix)
Celebrate National Tree Day 2022 with a tree walk on Sunday, 31st July. Join local ecologist Michael Doherty for an information-packed walk and learn how to identify Mount Majura’s woodland and forest trees, see where they occur and hear how they survive fire and drought.
Michael will introduce you to most of the tree species that occur on Mount Majura and Mount Ainslie including Snow Gum, Eucalyptus pauciflora, which grow only at a few sites.
When: Sunday, 31 July 2022, 2.00 – 4.00 pm
Where: Meet at the nature park entrance, Mackenzie Street nature park entrance roughly opposite Grayson Street in Hackett; view this map.
Wear and bring: Sun protection, appropriate clothing for the weather, sturdy shoes and drinking water.
Scribbly Gum fruits or gum nuts (W.Pix).
Tree guides will be available for a gold coin donation.
