Canberra Spider Orchid, Caladenia actensis
Mount Majura protects stands of Drooping She-oak (Allocasuarina verticillata) which are an important food source for the vulnerable Glossy-Black Cockatoo, a large area of critically endangered Yellow Box–Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodland on the lower slopes and rare Snow Gum Grassy Woodland on the eastern slopes, regionally important breeding habitat and food sources for many threatened and regionally declining woodland birds, and important populations for the critically endangered Canberra Spider Orchid (Caladenia actensis) and endangered Hoary Sunray (Leucochrysum albicans). Mount Majura also provides breeding habitat for the rare Rosenberg’s Monitor (Varanus rosenbergi).
