Mount Majura Nature Reserve Community Planting Day (24/05/2026)

Join us at Mount Majura Nature Reserve for a community planting day and help to restore the critically endangered Box–Gum Grassy Woodland.

When: Sunday, 24th May 2026, 9:30 am – 1:00 pm

Where: Mount Majura Nature Reserve, east of Ted Noff’s (construction site); a 800m walk from the car park at Antill street (close to the old bus stop) to the planting site; see this map.

Register. Please register here for catering and tools supply.

Transport: A bus departs from ANU at 9:00 AM; participants may drive themselves; carpooling is strongly encouraged.

Together, we’ll plant native species to support this threatened ecosystem, which now has less than 4% of its original extent remaining and provides vital habitat for endangered plants and animals.

Held as part of National Volunteer Week and World Environment Day, the event celebrates the essential role volunteers and community play in protecting and enhancing biodiversity. Whether you’re new to planting or experienced, you’ll be helping grow the next generation of endangered woodland while caring for Ngunnawal Country and connecting with the community.

What to Expect
