Tree Walk (27/07/2025)

A group of Blakely’s Red Gum flower buds (W.Pix)

How to distinguish between a Brittle gum and a Scribbly gum? What’s the difference between a Gum and a Box tree? How does the environment affect the occurrence of various species?

Join ecologist Michael Doherty at this walk and learn about Mount Majura’s trees and shrubs.

When: Sunday, 27th July,  2 – 4:30 pm

Where: Meet at the Mackenzie Street entrance to the nature park near Grayson Street, Hackett.

We’ll be walking on trails, mainly on the slopes and possibly up a medium slope to see Snow Gums.

Wear sturdy shoes and warm clothes; bring drinking water and a gold coin donation for a tree list. Enquiries: secretary@majura.org
