Join bird enthusiast Peter Miller for an early morning stroll on tracks through woodland, to spot, listen to and learn about Mt Majura’s birds in Autumn.
Meet on Sunday 15 May at 8 am sharp – at the nature reserve entrance off Mackenzie St near Grayson St, Hackett (view this map for the meeting point).
Bring sturdy shoes, binoculars, a bird ID book or App and a gold coin donation for a printed copy of Mt Majura’s bird species list.

Mt Majura and Mt Ainslie are hot spots of Canberra’s iconic Gang-gang Cockatoo, Callocephalon fimbriatum.
The species was adopted as the ACT’s fauna emblem 25 years ago on the 27 February 1997, and also features on the logo of the ACT Parks and Conservation Service.
The species has been listed as endangered under Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act on the 2nd March 2022.
