Mt Majura and Mt Ainslie are hot spots of Canberra’s iconic Gang-gang Cockatoo, Callocephalon fimbriatum.
The species was adopted as the ACT’s fauna emblem 25 years ago on the 27 February 1997, and also features on the logo of the ACT Parks and Conservation Service.
The species has been listed as endangered under Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act on the 2nd March 2022.
