Rare Plant Survey

Rare Plant Survey

Sunday, 3rd November 2013, 10am – 12noon

Meet at the nature park entrance, Mackenzie Street opposite Grayson Street, Hackett (view this map)

Bring sun protection, water, something to write, a camera if you have one.

Join Dr. Michael Mulvaney, ACT Conservation, Planning and Research for an introduction to surveying rare plants.

What are they and where are they? Information from surveying the presence and abundance of rare plant species within the nature reserve will guide management, planning, development and conservation decisions.

Twining Fringe Lily, Thysanotus patersonii (top, photo Waltraud Pix) and Hoary Sunray, Leucochrysum albicans var. tricolor (photo Steve Bittinger) are rare and endangered species that grow on Mt Majura.
